Trekking to the Heaven.....
Adam's Peak has always been at the top of my bucket list of places to visit at least once in my lifetime. Recently, I finally got the chance to witness with my own eyes the magical experience and beauty that everyone talks about. It was truly a breathtaking journey💪.
We chose the Nallathanniya route our climb. Our journey began around 11:00 P.M. Since it was my first time, I was called a ''Kodukaraya'' ( a first time pilgrim ). We all started climbing the stairs while chanting ''Thun Sarane '' verses 🙏💗.
As we felt the chilling breeze, the lights of the Siri Pa Maluwa in the distance lokked like a cluster of stars in the sky. Passing the Makara Thorana, we reached Seetha Gagula. After washing our hands and faces in the icy cold water, we resumed our climb. At Indikatupana, we performed the ritual of threading a needle and continued our way up🙌🙋.
As the path grew steeper, we began to feel the exhaustion. However, the strangers we met along the way people we didn't even know kept encouraging us. That gave us a strange kind of strength. Even though my legs were trembling as we climbed Mahagiridamba, we pushed forward💪✊.
We reached the Maluwa around 5.30 A.M. The ''Ira Sewaya'' (the sunrise ) I witnessed there was the most beautiful sight i have ever seen in my life. The entire sky was filled with a golden hue😍😻.
Hearing the echoes of ''Sadhu'' from every direction created a deeply spiritual feeling. when I worshiped the sacred footprint for the first time and rang the bell once (marking first visit), I felt as if I had truly stepped into heaven💗💥🙏.
